This sensor takes a continuous distance reading and returns a corresponding analog voltage with a range of 1m (40") to 5.5m (~220"). The sensor package includes a JST 5-pin connector, five pre-crimped wires, and a booklet with detailed information and examples.

The GP2Y0A700K ('0A700') is significantly larger, has a different pinout, and draws more current than the other Sharp IR sensors. It is not intended as a drop-in replacement for any of these sensors. The R302 is ideally suited for long-range sensing and localization in large spaces and its range is comparable to some sonic range finders.
