A kit containing a 40-pin USBStem module, 40-pin mini breakout board board and a USB A to mini B cable; a $23 savings over buying everything separately. Order now and get started.
This breakout board provides easy access to the capabilities of 40-pin BrainStems, and is perfect for those looking to get started with the BrainStem system. This breakout board can be powered from USB or battery, ensuring a portable and easy-to-use development platform for 40-pin BrainStems.
40-pin BrainStem modules are general purpose embedded microcontroller modules providing a variety of I/O capabilities including UART, I2C, analog I/O, digital I/O and more. 40-pin BrainStems can be networked with other BrainStem modules and third-party devices across the I2C bus. They can also communicate with many standard sensors with analog, digital or serial interfaces.
The breakout board also provides a standard CR2032 coin-cell battery slot for powering the 40-pin module's real-time clock (RTC). This allows the BrainStem to maintain an accurate system time while deployed in remote environments for data collection or logging.
The latest BrainStem development API is always available in the Download Center. The latest firwmare can be applied using the Updater utility. Check out the BrainStem Firmware Management reference entry or video for instructions on how to update your device.
