If you’ve ever needed to share video and audio equipment seamlessly in a modern conference room, you know it can be confusing. As more people bring their own devices (BYOD) to work or to the conference room, it’s important for switching between these devices to be easy and simple.

For companies large and small, every minute of the meeting you waste trying to get the conference room tech figured out is money that you’re wasting.

Stop wasting that time. With Acroname’s USBHub3c Host Switching Hub, we make the user connection process simple and easy.

Automatically give a laptop access to in-room USB peripherals just by plugging into the Acroname USB hub. Thanks to Acroname’s auto-switching technology, when a user’s host device (laptop) is plugged into the USBHub3c host port 0, any USB peripherals plugged into the USBHub3c will then automatically switch to and be accessible to that user’s host device.
Switch instantly back to the default conference room host device when you disconnect a presenter's laptop. Once the BYOD presenter disconnects their laptop from the Acroname Host Switching Hub, peripherals are then automatically switched back to the in-room host (Microsoft Teams Rooms, MTR, or Zoom Rooms computer)
Connect up to 5 USB peripherals. Microphones, cameras, keyboards, mice, whatever you need. Acroname’s 5-port hub allows you lots of options to connect the peripherals you need in your conference room.

When compared to our USBHub3+ A/V Hub, the USBHub3c offers the following advantages:

AnyPort™ - The AnyPort™ feature allows you to use any port on the hub for an upstream (host) connection or a downstream (peripheral) connection. This allows you to configure the hub in multiple ways between the number of host device connections and peripheral device connections.
RS-232 Control Option - When you need to send commands to the hub to switch between host devices manually, we offer an RS-232 option for control with popular AV control systems.
Host Device (Laptop) charging - The USBHub3c will automatically charge laptops that are connected to the hub even when a laptop is being used to present. The charging time and the number of laptops that can be charged at the same time varies based on the power supply you have connected to the hub. The Pro Version has the capability to charge up to 5 laptops simultaneously with an optional power supply.
10Gbps - The USBHub3c has an increased bandwidth throughout of 10Gbps and can support USB 3.2 connection with HD and ultra-HD 8k cameras and displays.

Why is this easier than other USB Hubs?

Our hubs offer auto-switching between the Microsoft Teams Rooms (host computer) and guest laptops (BYOD). This requires no input from the user - just plug in your laptop and you now have control over all the USB peripherals (cameras, microphones, speakers, etc.) on your BYOD laptop or device.

Why should I trust Acroname hubs?

Acroname hubs are designed for some of the most challenging applications in the electronics industry. They provide enough power so that you do not have to worry about them browning out or failing, no matter how many devices you connect.

Does the USBHub3c pass video?

No, you’ll still need an HDMI, VGA, Display Port, or other video connection to your main screen to display for everyone. Our hub does allow you to connect seamlessly with a Teams or Zoom (or another brand) USB camera and audio device to share what is happening in your room. Video adapters that use true USB protocols (like DisplayLink) will work with USBHub3c.

Can USBHub3c also charge my USB-C laptop(s)?

Yes. The USBHub3c-Lab has over 100w of power that can be shared between all ports for powering and charging connected devices. The USBHub3c-Pro has the ability to provide up to 500w of power shared between all ports for powering and charging connected devices.

Will your device work with my camera/microphone/whatever?

We are backward compatible with USB 1 and USB 2 as well as current USB 3 devices. Once the device is plugged in, you’ll want to make sure to set the correct audio/video output in your device settings.

My hub is (a long way) from my device. Will USB work for me?

USB-C cables are limited in range to about 3 meters. If you use a USB-C to USB Type A adapter, you can use a longer cable. You can add an active extender, or you can look at a product that provides USB over CAT5e/6/7 cables. We recommend this extender.

Can I control the USBHub3c with a room controller?

If you do need to control the Acroname hub using a room controller, we recommend the USBHub3c Host Switching Hub, which can be controlled via RS-232. USBHub3c is also used in auto-switching applications, where a room controller is not needed.

Do you recommend a camera or microphone?

As mentioned, as long as it’s a USB camera and microphone, we would not expect there to be any connectivity issues. If you’re looking to buy a new camera or microphone, check out POLY. Poly makes excellent devices.
