Programmable USB Hub

Electronic Design review of USBHub3+

The editors at Electronic Design had never seen a programmable USB hub before, so we sent one of the Acroname USBHub3+ units to them for evaluation. The team at ED mentioned how simple USBHub3+ is to use and particularly how it would enhance USB product testing or manufacturing environments.

Industrial USB Hub Teardown: ESD Robustness

When USB robustness and reliability matter

For everyday use — like connecting a mouse or webcam to your laptop — an inexpensive USB hub with enough ports will get the job done. However, in production or test environments, robustness and reliability are paramount. Chasing bugs inherent in inexpensive USB hubs is distracting and time-consuming, and failed processes can shut down lines or negatively impact your product quality. Even worse, a cheap hub may be able to damage your critical production systems.

How many Acroname USBHub2x4's can you connect at once?

Connecting multiple USB hubs

In this week's video we answered the popular question of: "Can I connect more than one USBHub2x4/BrainStem device to my computer?".  Not only did we prove that the answer is yes, but we also wanted to see exactly how many devices we could connect using our programmable USB hubs.  In addition, we also discussed a few methods for dealing with multiple devices using our C++ and Python API's.
